Cloud Engineer / Cloud Architect (Mid–Senior) Plants Villa — Riyadh, Saudi Arabia About Us Plants Villa is a fast-growing specialist retailer and tech-enabled service provider focused on indoor and outdoor plants, plant care subscriptions, and smart gardening solutions. We’re building a resilient, scalable cloud platform to support e‑commerce, IoT-enabled plant care devices, and data-driven customer experiences. Role Overview We’re hiring a Mid–Senior Cloud Engineer / Cloud Architect to design, build, and operate secure, cost‑efficient cloud architectures that support our e‑commerce platform, analytics pipelines, and IoT services. You’ll lead cloud migration and modernization efforts, set architecture standards, and work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. Key Responsibilities Design and implement cloud-native architectures across compute, storage, networking, and managed services. Lead cloud migration, modernization, and cost‑optimization initiatives. Define and enforce best practices for security, identity, and access management. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modular, reusable cloud templates. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery workflows. Architect and operate scalable data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. Ensure observability, monitoring, tracing, and alerting for cloud services. Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams on deployment strategies (blue/green, canary). Mentor engineers, perform architecture reviews, and document standards and runbooks. Participate in incident response and post‑mortems; drive continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5+ years experience in cloud engineering, architecture, or related roles; mid‑senior level. Proven expertise with one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience designing secure, scalable networking and identity solutions (VPCs, VPNs, IAM). Hands‑on with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.). Experience with observability and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, OpenTelemetry). Knowledge of data platforms and managed services (RDS, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, etc.) is a plus. Scripting/automation skills (Python, Go, Bash). Strong problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
